Drawn in the style of the famous Rock Family Tree series by Pete Frame, it traces Russell’s musical career beginning with his earliest bands in Tulsa - through the Los Angeles recording studios in the 60s - to his greatest triumphs as a rock & roll superstar, including his recent resurgence and collaboration with Sir Elton John. This newly-revised five-color poster edition is generously illustrated with many never-before-published photos and printed on high-quality 80# cover stock. Compiled by Steve Todoroff and artist Brian James Thompson in conjunction with the forthcoming release of the long-awaited Russell biography, LONGHAIR MUSIC: THE SONGS AND SESSIONS OF LEON RUSSELL, this 26.5” x 39” poster is a “must have” for musicologists and every Leon Russell fan. That section, THE RUSSELL SESSIONS: 1961-1969, gives a complete listing of Russell’s session activities, direct from the archived files of The American Federation of Musicians Union office in Hollywood, California.

In addition, a DISCOGRAPHY of Russell’s U.S. single and LP releases is included, plus a section on his elaborate session credits - an in-depth SESSIONOGRAPHY, which includes a listing of every 45, LP, CD, TV program, motion picture soundtrack, TV commercial, etc., known to us where Russell appeared as a musician, arranger, producer or other talent.
